Scenes From The Lake Superior Performance Rally

The final round of the 2015 Rally America National Championship; The Lake Superior Performance Rally. Brought with it crisp fall temperatures and wonderful colors. For the second year in a row I made the trip to cover the event, It rained and even snowed for most of the ride up. I was hoping it wouldn’t be the same cold and rainy weather we had last year. LSPR remains one of my favorite rallies. The beautiful fall colors and great northern Michigan scenery are quite relaxing. That is, until the sound of screaming rally cars come flying at you through the wood. It was a fun, challenging weekend but, that is what every rally weekend is; this is what I saw.

David Higgins and Craig Drew completed the season sweep marking the first time it has been done since John Buffum in 1987. Lauchlin O’Sullivan and Scott Putnam finished second overall in the championship after having already locked up the Super Production championship. Troy Miller, who did not compete in LSPR, had secured the 2WD class championship.
