Wekfest Part 2 ● People
The cars are cool, but for us, it’s usually the people that make an event fun and memorable. Wekfest is usually the first event of the year where we get reunited with our out-of-town photog buddies and see all our local friends in one place.

Larry and Linhbergh came up from LA to cover the show for Speedhunters! They didn’t come last year.

Lin knows lots of advanced photography stances.

Mikey tried to one up him but Linhbergh wasn’t having it.

Geoff wanted to borrow my 16-35, but then the truck drove away. Sorry Geoff!

I stole the 8-15 from Alex Wong’s 1D Mark IV and he didn’t even care! He stood there long enough for me to put the lens on my own camera and shoot into his open body.

Ladies love Tom Tang. And Tom Tang likes dinosaurs.

Geoff thought I was shooting him. Don’t flatter yourself, buddy. I was shooting the girl with more holes than pants.

Every now and then a photographer would have a model go through some poses, and that always attracted a crowd of other photographers and spectators. Everyone loves a cute Asian girl on a fixie, right?

Joe was crawling around the rafters like a spider monkey when he snapped this photo of Geoff jumping and clicking his heels. He probably saw a cute Asian girl on a fixie.

Oh hey look! It’s Max Nagano from Fatlace!
Geoff decided his role in our coverage of WekFest was going to be models-only, and I think he did a pretty good job! Recognize the extremely well endowed model in the middle? That’s Xena Kai, and she’s been on Life Blasters before! Remember I <3 Spocom?

Jan thought he’d try to be funny and ruin my photo of Mark Arcenal’s RWB Porsche.

Dammit Jan!

Kenny was working hard at the Fatlace booth and only had time for a quick peace sign.
Joe’s wife Brooke brought Yoshi, and Geoff had the brilliant idea to use Yoshi to jump the lines of photographers waiting to shoot the models. Who could say no to that face?
Lisa Le, Letty Loera and Genevieve Chanelle agreed! So Yoshi and Geoff continued to make the rounds, completely ignoring the cars.

Our favorite OPD officer, Squirrel, was one of the judges at the show. This sure beats the Saturdays he’d been having lately, where he and the rest of the boys have had to battle unruly protesters in the streets of Oakland.

Luke Crowell was happy staying in his 510 through most of the show. He had a nice cozy little spot back in the corner.

Yoshi was not the only dog at the show. There were plenty of others besides this cute little guy. I think he’s half Ewok.
Yoshi was getting pretty tired from all that hard work, just look at him in the photo on the far right! He was ready to call it a day!

Geoff gave him a puppy high-five and returned him to his human parents. He was happy just to sit with Brooke outside and enjoy the warm February day by the bay.
Stay tuned for more!
