Hey blasterfans! As you may have noticed, the pages of LB have been devoid of my journalistic stylings since
my retrospective 2011 post back in December.
Did you miss me? I've been working hard for the past few months on my
real job, drift event promotion, but last weekend I made a road-trip to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the Krishna festival of colors, and I'm coming back to grace the pages…

The cars are cool, but for us, it's usually the people that make an event fun and memorable. Wekfest is usually the first event of the year where we get reunited with our out-of-town photog buddies and see all our local friends in one place.

As we begin our 2012 adventures, I thought it would be worth looking over our first year, seeing how we've progressed and if anything needs to be reevaluated. We learned a lot for sure, and for sure there's a lot more to learn.

As many of you already know, Geoff and I came up with the concept while driving through Yosemite on the way to Las Vegas last year. He was shooting for Works Magazine…

While digging through thousands (okay, hundreds maybe) of my photos from this year, I came upon this conclusion: I need to either take way more photos or stop altogether. That being said, here is a compilation of not the greatest photos, but rather the greatest moments of 2011 that I happened to capture with my picture taking device. Shown above is an upset Chinese toddler whose stupid mother purchased the wrong flavor instant soup.…

Christmas started out rocky this year. Friday, the evening before I was set to drive 3 hours to my parents' house for Christmas, my car failed. Long story short, I got there anyway. Over the past few years my Mom has been going crazy with alternative cooking techniques, and one of the awesome…

A couple weeks ago, Geoff, Joe and I ventured over to west Oakland to march to the port with the Occupiers. It had been a while since they were kicked out of Frank Ogawa Plaza so we were anxious to see what was going to happen. Would the police block them from closing the port? Would the teamsters and longshoremen support or oppose the protest? We fell in line to find out.

Welcome friends, to my retrospective post on 2011. That special time of year when I reflect on all the adventures I had a part in, and
get to go through heaps and heaps of photos which ends up being an adventure all on its own. This year I came to a few realizations during the quest for my best photos, one of which was a disappointing one. I need to be more careful when deleting files. I won't cry on and on about how my favorite photos from this year were lost…

We set up for the Bay Area's premier bad weather BBQ at
Luke Lonberger's shop, Blu808 in Campbell. Previous WinterQs have all been hosted at Lab17 in Hayward and Fremont, so we knew hosting the party so much closer to the equator would have serious effects on attendance.

If you've never been to a long endurance race before, you're missing out. At 25 hours, NASA's annual enduro at Thunderhill is the longest in the world. Though it's mostly amateur teams running, there's no shortage of excitement, skill, determination, perseverance, hard work, and hard decisions.

2011's SF Auto Show was
awesome. All the manufacturers had their newest models on display in a setting where you could climb all over them, press all the buttons, and play with all the gadgets. The show also featured a vintage car collection from the Academy of Art University which was truly breathtaking.

Things are starting to heat up in Super-Am! This round was the biggest this season and it was full of surprises including upsets, setups, let downs, rock crawling, and celebrity appearances.

The first surprise was Joe! He decided to stop by and hang out on his way up to Medford for Thanksgiving. Aww, how sweet!…

Once upon a time in Oakland, I went with the boys from Performance Options to a rap video shoot on Mare Island, a decommissioned military facility north of the SF Bay Area. Wait a moment... let me do some explaining to prepare you for what you're about to read before I continue. This may prove to be the most difficult to understand article you've ever…

Since Columbus Day a few weeks ago, protestors have set up camp in major cities all over the nation. The group of protestors in San Francisco has been organizing demonstrations every Saturday, so Drew and I decided to jump on the BART and check out what it was all about.
