Road Atlanta is a lot of people's favorite track. Personally, I like it because of all the colors and the lack of fences. That makes it an easy place to shoot. It's a favorite for fans because of the layout. Instead of parking your car, walking hella far, and sitting in your seat, you can drive your car almost right up to the track, have a tailgate party, set up a canopy, bring your own chairs and a cooler, and chill. For the drivers, they like the fact that it's an actual road course as opposed to an oval or…

As if the awesomeness on Friday wasn't enough, I went back for more on Saturday! I was disappointed that it was no longer raining, but sun meant no cancelled sessions. I had World Challenge and Indy Lights practice to look forward too, as well as drifting, Indy practice, and qualifying, before the main event of the day: the American Le Mans race.

Based in a large but unassuming brick warehouse in the suburbs of Dallas, LG Motorsports is dominating the Corvette aftermarket. Lou Gigliotti (LG, get it?) turned his lifelong passion for racing into a thriving parts and tuning business, which both enables, and gains notoriety from, his continued racing endeavors. I first met Lou at Willow Springs, when he was…

Last Saturday was ThunderDrift's Full-Track February event. Upon arrived to the track, I found our favorite red dreaded Formula D dude, Luke Crowell, out rippin' in his Cressida.

Today I took a trip down to Blu808 to see what was going on. Luke always has interesting projects going on, and I was specifically interested in seeing how Gabe Stone's E36 M3 was coming along. Long Beach is coming up fast. Will Gabe be ready?

I brought a Blasting Cap for Luke. He was so excited to wear it that he almost…

Ahhh SEMA, that once a year excuse to go to Vegas that has nearly everyone in the automotive industry working overtime for weeks. The paint on some of the cars is only days old when they show up at the convention center, and the whole place is buzzing with news of all the new things happening in 2012.

As soon as I got back from Thunderhill it was time to cut Luke's new graphics since his car is going to SEMA. After Irwindale he got some new body panels and took the car over to the body shop to get it fixed up and painted. We decided on Torch Red this time, which is a factory Corvette color.

Last week my friend Nan hit me up on Facebook, rushing to find a photographer for his wedding that was coming up fast. I hadn't really talked to Nan since our Shock Drifting days back in 2005-06 so he didn't know I was a photographer. Luckily for him I was! I also learned that he's a designer at GM in Michigan now. He's even been working on the exterior of the new C7 Corvette. I'm probably not even supposed to mention that. Haha!

This finishes off the build video series for Lab17/Blu808! We wish the best of luck to Luke in his rookie season as a Formula DRIFT Pro, and look forward to the next time he crosses our blaster-holes (lenses)!

So, I'm here at Blu808 in Campbell hanging out and doing ThunderDrift work while Luke and the crew build the Blu808 Vette, and my fellow blaster Bohan films episode 5 of the Vette Build-vid series. I've gotta say, every time I've been to Blu808 I'm in awe at the collection of cars Luke is working on. In this picture alone, you can see 3 Formula DRIFT cars… Read More

I shot these when we went back to Los Gatos Body Shop to pick up the Vette from paint. It looks like a brand new chassis or something.
.
. I love the lighting in the paint booth. Neither one of these pics is Photoshopped.

This guy Ronan came over here from Ireland to help Luke out. He's a pretty cool guy, and the only Irishman who doesn't drink, and that's only because he barfed his stomach lining out not once but
twice. I think it's safe to say that he didn't
quit drinking, but rather that he
finished drinking. Much like the difference between dropping out of school and graduating.
. This video is hilarious starting at around 15 minutes.…

Luckily Luke didn't get much done on the Corvette while I was in Hawaii, and what he did do he recorded with his Canon Vixia, so at least I had some footage to work with. My part was shot over another four day period, and took another 10 or 15 hours to edit. At least I didn't have to make the title sequence again.

Luke called me up and wanted me to come shoot his Formula D Corvette build. I suggested doing a video instead. About 1 minute into shooting it was apparent I'd need better audio, so I went to San Jose Camera and got an Audio Technica wireless lavalier mic. It's way better than the shotgun mic for this kind of stuff.
. .It's also apparent that this is going to take a ridiculous about of my time. I shot this…
