May 6th, 2011, marked the first day drifting has ever been allowed on the Jackson County Sports Park kart track, located in White City, Oregon, since its opening in 1996. Last Sunday marked the opening day for 2012 drift season at Pat's Acres Racing Complex, commonly known as PARC, hosted by Loki Motorsports. This year's big year-end event was Sam Mercado's Tropical Hula Girl Drift, which consisted of Super-Am Round 4 on the Driftpad with open drifting and gripping sessions on the big track. What I'll miss about metal quarter panels is rubbing off the excess sidewall when running fresh tires and seeing the looks on the faces of concerned pedestrians and drivers alike.
