Road Atlanta is a lot of people's favorite track. Personally, I like it because of all the colors and the lack of fences. That makes it an easy place to shoot. It's a favorite for fans because of the layout. Instead of parking your car, walking hella far, and sitting in your seat, you can drive your car almost right up to the track, have a tailgate party, set up a canopy, bring your own chairs and a cooler, and chill. For the drivers, they like the fact that it's an actual road course as opposed to an oval or… Read More
May 6th, 2011, marked the first day drifting has ever been allowed on the Jackson County Sports Park kart track, located in White City, Oregon, since its opening in 1996. Having autocrossed on this track, in this very car, back in late '07, I've been chomping at the bit to drift here for quite a while. Thanks to a local European car club, RogueEuro.com, this dream became a reality. Read More
Last Saturday was ThunderDrift's Full-Track February event. Upon arrived to the track, I found our favorite red dreaded Formula D dude, Luke Crowell, out rippin' in his Cressida. Read More
While digging through thousands (okay, hundreds maybe) of my photos from this year, I came upon this conclusion: I need to either take way more photos or stop altogether. That being said, here is a compilation of not the greatest photos, but rather the greatest moments of 2011 that I happened to capture with my picture taking device. Shown above is an upset Chinese toddler whose stupid mother purchased the wrong flavor instant soup.… Read More
Right in the middle of my Epic Thanksgiving Geoff and I shot down south for the Bob's Donuts Annual Day After Thanksgiving Trackday at Buttonwillow. I've been going to this event since 2005 but it's been happening way longer than that. It never fails to be one of the funnest trackdays of the year. Read More
Once upon a time in Oakland, I went with the boys from Performance Options to a rap video shoot on Mare Island, a decommissioned military facility north of the SF Bay Area. Wait a moment... let me do some explaining to prepare you for what you're about to read before I continue. This may prove to be the most difficult to understand article you've ever… Read More
What I'll miss about metal quarter panels is rubbing off the excess sidewall when running fresh tires and seeing the looks on the faces of concerned pedestrians and drivers alike. I'll also miss occasionally being pushed down the highway by the likes of Joe Ayala or Geoff Pitts BECAUSE MISSILE CAR. The thing is, I'm starting to grow up (kinda) and my car is following suit and that's okay. Life sucks without change. Here's to a new generation of mine and Joe's cars. One filled with big lips, stretched… Read More
Every few months Frank Siharath from Garage Boso comes up to Performance Options in Oakland to do some ECU tuning on NorCal cars. This time, Pat Mordaunt drove up with Frank and took a few moments from his busy day to let me interview him. Thanks Pat!
Our good buddy Julian Jacobs took home the second place trophy at the Formula D ProAm Allstars competition at Irwindale. Watch for this guy on the pro tour in 2012! Find this photo in our Wallpapers section. Canon 5D Mark II, 300mm 2.8 IS + 1.4x Extender (420mm @f/4),… Read More
AYALA - Yeah! Drift Evolution starts again! This is the 4th round out of 6 this year. The event seems to bring more and more interest with every event, bringing drivers from all along the west coast. Justin wasn't taking any chances driving his unregistered and uninsured car to this event as he had in the past. So he had it towed by the Tandem of Die support vehicle, Joseph Shreeve's Chevy Luv. So after our little escapade down in Portland, Justin, Geoff and I woke up at the crack of noon, very hungover, packed our shit in Geoff's S14 (no homo) and jammed up for Seattle for the driftings! It was as uncomfortable as you think. Geoff was a very busy man this event. On top of his regular spotting duties… Read More
What you're about to see is mine and Joe's attempt to capture our cars right before their inevitable destruction. Sunday, the 22nd of May, was the first round of the 2011 Drift Evolution series held in our hometown of Medford Oregon. Up until that day, Joe had not drifted in something like nine months and I hadn't in about four. We wanted to get right back in the swing of things and jump straight into TANDEMING OF DYING. That being said, we knew we were going to f#ck some… Read More
Last Sunday, Will Roegge and I made a trip over to GTI in San Clemente to check out the progress on Matt Powers' S14. The very noticeable and highly controversial new engine has been a huge topic of discussion lately all over teh interwebz. Did our grassroots rockstar really swap out his KADE-T for an LS7 powerplant? He sure did, and he'll… Read More
Last Saturday, Joe Ayala and I made the trek up to Kent, Washington for the final round of the PGP Winter Drift Series. Considering Joe's exhausting drive up from San Francisco the day before, I did what any good friend would do and slept the entire way up. As we neared the track, we spotted this relatively appealing 350Z cruising down the highway. This driver apparently misunderstood the concept of a rolling shot and proceeded to drive… Read More
