I love Dick's. Maybe I'm biased because I grew up in the Seattle area, but a Dick's cheeseburger just can't be beat. It's super simple: a bun, a patty, a slice of cheese, ketchup, and mustard. But somehow or another they pump it so full of umami that nothing else comes close. Part of the Dick's experience, for me anyway, has been its exclusivity to Seattle. The five main restaurants have all been around since way before I was born, and there was one in Bellevue for a little…

New Year's Day is my cousin Alex's birthday. Can you imagine turning 21 right at midnight, as everyone is partying their brains out? Pretty rad if you ask me. After the partying and much-needed sleep, Alex had a birthday party at die BierStube, a German tavern in Seattle. I couldn't have thought of a better place.

In all of our travels throughout the last twelve months, a handful of photos stands out from the rest. Many end up as wallpapers. A few never make it into posts. But when digging through a hard drive, they're the ones you keep coming across that make you say "Damn! This one is awesome!" These are those photos.

December 2010: On the remote northwestern tip of Maui, I waited in a light,…

What a year 2011 has been. It's been such a privilege to be a part of the Life Blasters crew, and I can't wait for what 2012 holds in store for us. My first Life Blasters post was on the PGP event in March, so I think I'll start with that. Jason Cancio has probably my absolute favorite car that drives that track. Not for its JDM radness, but for its pure originality. Stock metal, stock wheels, stock aero, slammed rwd STi hatch cannot lose.…

Ahhh SEMA, that once a year excuse to go to Vegas that has nearly everyone in the automotive industry working overtime for weeks. The paint on some of the cars is only days old when they show up at the convention center, and the whole place is buzzing with news of all the new things happening in 2012.

In 2006 I went up to Washington for a week. While I was there, I went with my girlfriend and some friends on a hike up Mount Pilchuck, northeast of Seattle.

It was a pretty…

Twenty years ago today, on September 24, 1991, Nirvana released their pivotal album Nevermind. On the surface it seemed like nothing significant. There was pop like Michael Jackson and Madonna. There was metal like Mötley Crüe and Guns 'n Roses. There was alternative like REM and punk like the Ramones. Even Nirvana itself had been around a few years. But then things got different. …

Here's the video I put together for Conrad Grunewald after the 5th round of Formula DRIFT at Evergreen Speedway. It sure is hard to edit a video while you're moving. Haha!

So after our little escapade down in Portland, Justin, Geoff and I woke up at the crack of noon, very hungover, packed our shit in Geoff's S14 (no homo) and jammed up for Seattle for the driftings! It was as uncomfortable as you think.

Geoff was a very busy man this event. On top of his regular spotting duties…

After a last minute engine-out job on my S14 at Luke Lonberger's shop, Blu808, I was ready for the trip to FD Evergreen. I started the voyage by picking up my blaster pal Joe Ayala at his swanky apartment in San Francisco at 6:00am on Tuesday.

The first…
