Well here we are, 100 years in the making. Well not years exactly, but runnings. The first 500 was held in 1911, but six races were missed due to World War I and World War II. Here we are in 2016, the biggest Indy 500 ever, and easily one of the biggest races ever, period.
A few weeks ago I got a text from Alex Wong asking how close I was to the Ohio Mile. I instantly went online and went to the East Coast Timing Association’s website to see when the next event was. I haven’t been to an Ohio Mile event since 2013, and with Hot Rod Magazine […]
We had a pretty decent winter when I look back, but the last month or so, it got a little annoying. Cold, cloudy, rain and snow. Two weeks ago it was in between 20 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit. For being the second weekend of April, people weren’t too happy. But this being Michigan, this weekend, two week […]
It’s Earth Day, so I’ve put together a collection of our best photos of Earth, shot everywhere from Hawaii to Norway, from Alaska to Mexico, from Scotland to Japan. We’ve seen rain forests, deserts, and snowy mountains in our journeys, as well as some of Earth’s most important cities and famous landmarks. .:Bohan
GM doesn’t have an actual museum in the Detroit area; none of the big three do actually. Ford has some cars in the Henry Ford, Chrysler had the Walter P Chrysler Museum, which is now private. And GM has their Heritage Center.
Last year I was invited to an open house at RM Motorsports in Wixom, Michigan. Before that day, I only knew vaguely of RM and what they did, but I wasn’t ready for the shock I got when I entered their showroom. A couple weeks ago I got a message on Facebook from someone who […]
The beginning of 2015 was a first for me. Usually I spend New Years at home and go to sleep about five minutes after the ball drops in New York. But this year I watched the new year come in surrounded by thousands of people at the base of the Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. For me, […]
Living in Michigan is a double-edged sword, anywhere in the all four seasons is really, but Michigan seems to be slightly different. As I always say, we’re the home of the Motor City, we basically have fuel in our veins. But when November or December rolls around we loose the ability to enjoy our passion. […]
Most people know about Car Week, or have at least seen photos from it. The week before the Monterey Historic races and Pebble Beach, Carmel and Monterey are overrun with the most exotic cars in the world. McLaren P1s and LaFerraris can be seen on every block, and some the of the most desirable and […]
It was finally time for an event that I’ve been waiting for since last year: Final Bout II. Last year’s event was awesome. The atmosphere, the teams, the cars and the camaraderie of the drivers and fans made it one of the funnest events anyone had ever been to.
I live about half an hour away from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ann Arbor is an interesting city with the University of Michigan right in the center. It’s a high-tech city that is filled with businesses and shops that cater to the high-tech community and university students. Its also home to a few well known car […]
There’s really no way to accurately describe the weekend we experienced in Maine for the New England Forest Rally. It was two days of awesome racing and awesome cars. Alex flew out to Chicago and met me outside of Detroit. We then drove through Canada to New Hampshire where we planned on staying the night. […]
Every weekend in the summer there’s racing all over the globe. And usually I’m upset because I can never get enough racing, and I don’t think I ever will. But recently there was one of the best weekends this year. TUDOR was at Watkins Glen for their six hour race, Pirelli World Challenge was racing […]
There are 52 weekends in 2015 and about half of those are good enough for racing here in Michigan. Of course there are going to be multiple events on several of those weekends, and for the second year in a row I’ve been torn between two big events.
Most of my friends will tell you I never stop talking about California. It’s due to many reasons, among them the weather, the views, and the overall good vibes I get from being there.
I’ve grown up with NASCAR, CART and the American Le Mans Series. I wasn’t introduced to drifting until the early 2000s, but I had very little personal contact with it. I rarely saw it on TV, and only came across some info in magazines. It wasn’t until 2007 that I really started to get into […]
A couple months ago I heard that Ken Lingenfelter was having an open house at his collection. It’s been a few years since my last visit, so I decided it’d be a good time to catch up on what’s new. Since this collection is probably the best car collection in Michigan, it attracts a pretty decent […]
