It was finally time for an event that I’ve been waiting for since last year: Final Bout II. Last year’s event was awesome. The atmosphere, the teams, the cars and the camaraderie of the drivers and fans made it one of the funnest events anyone had ever been to.
We had a blast at Final Bout, we met lot of awesome people and just had an overall awesome weekend. It embodied everything we love about drifting in one event. From hanging out with everyone at local bars to the action on the track these are the photos we had left over from the weekend. […]
After some time to reflect, I still think this was the best round of Formula D I’ve seen to date. Jersey last year was a good one, as was Irwindale in 2011, but this one was the best. For starters, Road Atlanta has always been my favorite Formula D track just from a visual perspective. […]
The 2014 Formula D season did the unexpected by, in retrospect, having the most obvious outcome. Before 2013, no one would have picked Mike Essa as the champ. In 2012 no one thought a rookie could take the title. This year, Chris Forsberg had about as perfect of a season as one could hope for, […]
Final Bout. An event that drift fans and drivers all over North America have been waiting for. An attempt at the largest grassroots drift event in America. Teams from Boston, Washington, California, Canada and a ton from Chicago all descended on a small town in Wisconsin to take part in making history.
Maybe only after the year I was born, 2013 has been one of the best years of my life. Between being allowed to relive races on here, and following Noble Star Rally around, it’s been an interesting and awesome year. I have to start off with this epic TVR Sagaris we randomly stumbled across in […]
The final round of the 2013 Rally America season took place in the top of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula around towns of Houghton and L’Anse. The championship battle at the beginning of the rally was down to only 17 points between Higgins and Block, so there was sure to be tension in the air. Block won […]
Julian Jacobs has been at it for quite a while, but we still haven’t witnessed him going head to head with the Formula DRIFT field. Who would like to see that? We would! This video by Northern California resident Max Gemmel is a touching look into just some of the trials Julian has endured on […]
Before an image has been seen or a paragraph read, let it be known that each and every sentence, word, and syllable has been drawn from the deep, dark, and mysterious mind of a spawn of teh intarwebz. The mind of Kyle Pope. This is not a story or an article as much […]
Just when this was shaping up to be the weirdest Formula Drift season on record, Round 5’s outcome was as tame as the Puget Sound weather. There was very little fan uproar about judging calls, and aside from a few (important) upsets, this event was rather…uneventful. Some would even call it a pleasant change. Not […]
Here at Life Blasters, we’re big fans of Ryan Kado. He has his share of troubles, but when he’s on, he’s REALLY on. Yesterday in qualifying he failed to make the top 16 on his first run, but blew everyone’s doors in with a 96 point second run. Even though his run was 5 points […]
As an addition to our usual event coverage, I’ve been thinking lately about doing something a little different. We usually leave the track with tons for photos that don’t ever relate to an actual story and don’t ever get used. So I’ve decided to make this the first of my “Photo Dump” posts where […]
It’s been a while since we did a Video Monday post, and a few videos have dropped recently that we think are worth checking out. First up, YAER Productions‘ official Formula DRIFT Australia video. A brilliant piece of moving art from Ryan Davis and the gang. Next up is a new show from Network A […]
That’s right, folks, the 10th anniversary season of Formula DRIFT is now underway! Round 1 is in the books, and Life Blasters is here for you with the play-by-play, but before we get into the details we would like to extend a huge thanks to Formula DRIFT for signing us on as an official Media […]
Formula Drift implemented a new qualifying method for 2013. Before, each driver would get two nonconsecutive runs, starting with the lowest ranked driver and working up the list. Now they start with the highest ranked driver and work their way down, and after the first run the top 16 drivers are locked in and don’t […]
