For the fourth year in a row I made my way to Michigan’s Keeweenaw Peninsula for the final round of the Rally America National Championship. It is one of my favorite rallies and like most years the fall colors and the action didn’t disappoint.
I don’t know what my problem is, but it seems no matter where I go it rains. Usually it’s a little annoying dealing with rain, but when it’s the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Mid Ohio, it’s awesome.
You certainly know the story of Pikes Peak, the highest hillclimb in the world and the second oldest race in the US behind the Indianapolis 500. A few years ago I thought I’d never see this Bergrennen with my own eyes. But I was mistaken. Through my love of racing, photography and crazy things, I decided […]
After the historic cars were done running on Saturday, there really wasn’t much left to do. Luckily the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum is located within the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And heads up, this is a history heavy story.
Well here we are, 100 years in the making. Well not years exactly, but runnings. The first 500 was held in 1911, but six races were missed due to World War I and World War II. Here we are in 2016, the biggest Indy 500 ever, and easily one of the biggest races ever, period.
Between snow, rain, wind and sun, all seasons in one weekend, that’s …. Silverstone? Whatever, that’s not correct. Anyway I’m slowly used to the experience ‘weather conditions do not match their area.’ My last conversation with Andrew was those, and them summary was, “let’s be different from the ordinary photographs’ Common ones provide the results, […]
For the second time this year I headed down to Florida for racing. This time for the final 12 hours of what is known as the 36 hours of Florida. The second stop on the 2016 IMSA Weather Tech Sports Car Championship and the second round of the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup; The […]
Benicia, California: Another year, another tally mark on the wall of life. In many ways, 2014 had been the worst year of my life, so I was happy when January 1st, 2015 came around. I was nearing the end of my 1980 CB650 build, and on a rainy January night I rolled it outside in […]
As the sun sets on 2015 I find myself going through photos that I feel are the best ones I have taken over the past year. Thing is I hate most of them. Might sound dumb but it is a way of growing and hopefully building off what you did wrong and becoming a stronger […]
This was, without a doubt, the best 25 Hours of Thunderhill I’ve been to. The stars must have aligned or something. Perfect weather, awesome cars, and hanging out with great people all made 2015 one to remember.
Imagine this: a hell of a lot of prototypes that rarely resemble anything you see elsewhere on the track featuring various engine layouts with more than 1000 hp each who all race in one single event among different classes over the course of six hours. That’s FIA WEC – an impressive endurance race series which dwarfs […]
It wasn’t supposed to be like this. There were supposed to be sunny skies, wonderful temps, and a beautiful sunset. This was the scenario that played out in my head in the weeks leading up to my trip to the 2015 Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. The final race of the Tudor United Sportscar […]
Northern Minnesota is a peaceful, relaxing place. A place where you can go to get away from it all. See the headwaters of the Mighty Mississippi River and in the of August watch rally cars blast through these lazy dirt roads with the arrival of the Rally America Ojibwe Forests Rally. I made the three […]
Every weekend in the summer there’s racing all over the globe. And usually I’m upset because I can never get enough racing, and I don’t think I ever will. But recently there was one of the best weekends this year. TUDOR was at Watkins Glen for their six hour race, Pirelli World Challenge was racing […]
It’s March 4th, a beautiful 70-degree Thursday out in good ol’ Cheraw, South Carolina, where rally competitors are coming in from all over the country for the Sandblast Rally, held by NASA Rally Sport. As for me, this is the day I decided to leave Long Island, NY, during a snow storm, to make the […]
The 25 Hours of Thunderhill is always the perfect ending to the racing season. The big spring-to-fall series are over, the far away events in Europe and Asia in the summertime are memories, and there’s nothing left but to go freeze your ass off for 25 hours while witnessing some of the best racing North […]
2014 actually felt like a “Fresh Start” for me. I had just moved back to New York a month before the new year and the first week of 2014 started with a train ride to the city to buy my new 7D. It feels pretty good to kick my “Best of 2014” with a photo […]
