Olympia was a painful show. Not only because the venue was somewhat unpromoted, but this was also where I sustained my foot injury. Jameson still melted the faces off every fan who showed up though, believe you me.
I thought the back alley of this joint looked like an interesting bathroom, but then I saw the actual bathroom!
I’ve always had a soft spot for these communal graffiti spots. So much going on in such a small place. Can you spot the LB sticker? It’s not hard… it’s the only thing that isn’t painted on. Damn, where’s my paint-pen?

Matt Bomb and I actually hit the streets before the show to drum up interest, and were somewhat successful! Olympia is a tiny town anyway, so having 30 people in this place made it feel packed.
I really enjoyed the blue background at this venue… A lot of places overuse red, and it KILLS it for us photogs (see: why I shot so much B/W on this tour). The blue balanced it out into some killer looking pics.
These are the last shots I squeezed in before my horrendous injury… It was simple and stupid, yet brutal at the same time. Previously, at the smaller shows I had served as both a photographer and a pit instigator. This particular night I was enjoying the latter half of my job description a little too much and I slipped and rolled the SH*T out of my ankle. Seriously, kids. Worst I’ve ever done. I saw stars and the whole nine yards, so I dragged my broken ass and my camera gear outside to mentally regroup.
On my way out the door, I snapped this pic. Perfect because the guys had been making jokes about “front butt” all day.
We ambled across the street after the show to a black-metal bar, which we all agreed should’ve been the venue for that night’s show, and sharing a healthy shot of Absinthe with Chad made me forget all about how giant my foot was getting inside my shoe.
…Then we found satan.
…and the guys just had to get a group shot with him. Seriously though, this bar was awesome. One of the coolest spots we saw on the whole tour.
