I made my way back to the track and got there just in time for the first time attack session of the day. The racing surface had dried out and I finally got to see Chris Rado’s new TC. I’m actually surprised they haven’t banned the ridiculous front wing yet. I guess no one has complained about it yet, so he got to leave it on and set the Unlimited FF class record at 1:45.116.

GTA Sonoma Day 1
The other day I was chilling at Blu808 and Luke said to me, “Hey, we’re doing Global Time Attack at Infineon!”
“Cool,” I said. “I’ll be there.”
So today I drove up to Sears Point to catch my first time attack since earlier this year when Redline was at WSIR. I don’t know the whole story behind RTA’s demise (it is really gone, isn’t it?) but I’m happy another series has filled the empty niche.

Insert Coin(s) ● Las Vegas
Insert Coin(s) is the most awesome bar I have ever been to. After being introduced to it by Jarod DeAnda earlier this year during Formula DRIFT Vegas, I had to go back for more. After the events that transpired on this night, I don’t think I’ll ever hang out on the Strip again. Insert Coin(s) is where it’s at. Fact!

SEMA 2011
Ahhh SEMA, that once a year excuse to go to Vegas that has nearly everyone in the automotive industry working overtime for weeks. The paint on some of the cars is only days old when they show up at the convention center, and the whole place is buzzing with news of all the new things happening in 2012.

Occupy SF Part 1
Since Columbus Day a few weeks ago, protestors have set up camp in major cities all over the nation. The group of protestors in San Francisco has been organizing demonstrations every Saturday, so Drew and I decided to jump on the BART and check out what it was all about.

Riots in Oakland!
I was hanging out at my house late last night, when I saw some Facebook posts from MotorMavens, Sam Attal, about the Occupy Oakland riots that were happening. I was really bummed I had missed the one a few weeks, since the LB crew was up at Thunderhill for the Kris Hackenson Scary Halloween Drift. I was pissed I had missed this one too. We got to talking and he kept me updated on the situation for a while. It seemed like it was dying down and it wouldn’t be worth going to, but i felt like I’d regret it more than anything if I didn’t try. So I packed my 135mm 2.0, 24mm 1.4 and a 580EX flash and headed out.

The Haps on the Craps: A Week with Tandem of Die
A week ago Friday I was greeted by the young, rich, and tasteless Joe Ayala. The plan was to drink until the pain over. But, what’s worse – the pain or the hangover? Seriously though, the plan was to hang out with our good friends Yoshi Shindo, Walker Wilkerson, and Kyle Pollard and then head down to Thunderhill Raceway where we would be driving our cars for the first time on track.
