I had heard about the Seattle Center Gay Pride ‘PrideFest’ Festival about an hour or so before it began and figured it would be a great time to grab the camera and go check it out seeing as I wanted to go the Science Center anyway with the girlfriend to see what had changed since we had gone in middle school.
Though hard to see, the Gay Pride flag flew high above the Space Needle on a beautiful Seattle day. This shot looks amazing at night, unfortunately I couldn’t stick around to get that picture.
I had no idea it would be as packed as it was, no pun intended. Being there was a Gay Pride parade going on at the same time a town or two over, I didn’t think I would see a turn out similar to Folk Life.
It was a different scene for sure, this is the PG version of some of the outfits walking around this afternoon.
I wonder what his daily attire is, I really hope it is similar to this.
Everyone was getting pictures with each other. Sex shop Lovers Package even had a giant penis walking around with a sign that said ‘Take a picture with the Happy Penis.’
Said giant photogenic penis.
The picture didn’t end up looking too much like him, but this guy looked like Lil Wayne minus the face tattoos in real life.
There was so much music from drum circles and two main stages, people couldn’t help but jump up and down waving whatever they had in or out of the fountain.
Walking up to the 3rd main stage was not an easy task; it is kind of like walking in the mall, no matter what side you walk on you feel like you are going the wrong direction of people traffic.
So many different captions could be used for this. But Batman stood proud no matter what looks he got.
The skatepark that is within the Seattle Center was not quite as busy as I expected but I wanted to get over there and shoot some of the local Seattle skaters.
This guy was killing it at the park, and he has Travis Barker beat for tattoos, his entire face/neck/body had tattoos. And from what he told me, and from the little I looked at the ones on his face while talking to him, they are all real! He said the nose didn’t hurt as much as you would think…hmm.
Seriously, ‘no fuck was given’ should be the motto for the festival. I do love the acceptance Seattle has, and this was still not the most nude girls AND guys were walking around as.
This was the best drink set up I have seen, 50 cents gets you a pop or bottle of water and a dance from the girl, $1.50 gets you two drinks and both the girl and the guy dancing. I got juice, two water bottles, and a pop.
All in all a great day at the Seattle Center Pridefest, can’t wait to return next year!
