Today was Blu808’s annual summer BBQ, and Luke partnered up with Proper Styles to throw the biggest bash to date. The parking lot was completely packed, and I parked blocking someone in. As soon as I did that, someone blocked me in. I was gonna stay a while anyway, so whatever.
I promptly found the homies. Luke was happy, but Conrad was even happier. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him that happy, except maybe for when he won Formula D New Jersey last month.
Gabe thought it was ridiculous.
I think the only person who wasn’t happy was Turbo. He had to stay in the office the whole time.
…Because if you let him out he’d go crazy. He’s run away before, and he’d do it again. Luke’s girlfriend Melissa made this rad sign using one of my photos of Turbo. The dog is crazy, I tell you.
Josh Kravitz gave me his best cool-guy look. I’d say he’s pretty cool, wouldn’t you? By the way, he just asked his girlfriend to marry him, and she said yes! Congrats, Josh!
Marcus tried to beat Josh’s coolness by kissing Gabe. He didn’t succeed, luckily. I left that sentence purposefully ambiguous. Interpret it how you want.

A few Formula D cars were parked out front.
I didn’t expect to see Charles Ng’s car though. That was cool.
I don’t think Charles expected to see me either. He looks alarmed.
Maybe he was concerned about Angry Earl’s PDA with so many children around.
There were just a few 5th Gen Camaros in the lot. They like to park together.
The Audis like to park together too. Sometimes they let the BMW’s come along.
Over in the food area, I found some lovely blue cupcakes. Or maybe they’re Blu cupcakes. Luke’s mom made them.
Hot dogs were on the grill all day. I think Melissa must have cooked 300 hot dogs. Jeez.
Next to the grill was a real dog. It growled and barked at me after I took this photo. Do you think it knew what I was doing?
Before long, Luke’s family showed up. His brother Chad is such a cool guy. Not as cool as Josh, but close.
They made me do a family portrait. I hope the check is in the mail.
I finally got Conrad to hold still. Look at those baby browns!
Well well, look who it is. Dirrty Dave! He’s the dirtiest guy anyone knows. I hadn’t seen him in a few years, and my life was so much cleaner for it.
And then I finally found Fabian. He just won some big RC drift event. Hey man, you have a pro license. Come do some real drifting for once! Haha.
Conrad tried to fish something out of Fabian’s mouth. At least I think that’s what was going on. Who really knows?
Ah, there’s Luke’s Corvette, Luke’s ProAm S14, and Wally’s Evo! Nice!
Conrad tried to sabotage the Vette. That’s so mean!
Apparently Josh loves this pose, and he practices it whenever he can. Sorry, Josh. Real cool guys don’t have to practice looking cool.
With Josh’s reputation ruined anyway, he and Wally decided to do this optical illusion kiss. Weirdos.
Back outside, I found baby Tailyr trying out Fabian’s cockpit.
Fabian has already taken her for a ride along. It was just from his garage to the street, but still, that’s something.
Conrad, Luke, and Charles discussed the finer points of pro drifting.
While Gabe was happy just to sip on some tappy. How cool is it that Tapioca Express set up a table? Cooler than your BBQ, that’s for sure.
