Recently I’ve been shooting at trackday events local to the San Francisco Bay Area for a company called GotBlueMilk. Let me tell you now, it’s definitely not Life Blasting. Accuracy and thoroughness are the primary concerns when shooting for GotBlueMilk, so I call it Business Blasters. I have to shoot one or two angles of 30+ cars or bikes in a 20 minute session with an 85%+ accuracy ratio, and to make things even more interesting there are usually three to five different groups. All of this adds up to me shooting 2-3k shots a day, but I really don’t mind because I get to shoot with way better gear than I own.
The above two shots were snapped using the boss’ 600mm F4L and 1.4x extender on my 20D body while I had a break from the real work. Here’s an interesting tidbit: The 600mm lens with the 1.4x extender is equivalent to an 840mm lens! Add my 20D’s 1.6x APS-C sensor to the mix, and you get a final shot at a whopping 1344mm!
Crazy, right?!?!
