Welcome friends, to my retrospective post on 2011. That special time of year when I reflect on all the adventures I had a part in, and get to go through heaps and heaps of photos which ends up being an adventure all on its own. This year I came to a few realizations during the quest for my best photos, one of which was a disappointing one. I need to be more careful when deleting files. I won’t cry on and on about how my favorite photos from this year were lost when we changed to 1000px images a few months ago, but rather feel solace for the fact that I can recreate those photos even better in 2012.
What follows is a completely disorganized list of my very favorite photos from 2011. Not disorganized because I don’t care, but because I love them all so similarly it would take me an extra year to rank them. Some are color, some black and white. Some are scenes that suggest peace, comfort, and beauty, while others represent fury, energy, and a lot of thrashing around. Regardless of their mood, these are all images that are important to me because they document situations, feelings, and adventures that I’ve been so lucky to participate in.
