Today I took a trip down to Blu808 to see what was going on. Luke always has interesting projects going on, and I was specifically interested in seeing how Gabe Stone’s E36 M3 was coming along. Long Beach is coming up fast. Will Gabe be ready?
I brought a Blasting Cap for Luke. He was so excited to wear it that he almost wore it while he was working under a car. That would have ruined it for sure!
Turbo wanted to wear it too. Look how excited he was!
Nothing like some hand grenades to use for paperweights. Luke got these at a surplus/scooter store the last time he was in Vegas. Yes, they’re real.
Back out in the shop, Gabe had just fit the LS6 into the car, and now he had to take it out again to make it fit with the tranny attached.
Gabe got a G Force GSR 4-speed dog box. It’s worth more than most drift cars in Norcal. Haha.
While Gabe was putting the tranny on, I checked out some of the other projects. The guys have been working on this Mustang for a while. It’s got all new links in the back and Marcus just finished a super baller stainless exhaust.
They also pulled the rear fenders pretty dramatically and actually raised the front wheel arches a little more than an inch. Now it tucks the tires the same amount all around. This car will be in the Aeromotive booth at SEMA this year.
Under the Mustang is a pretty normal looking Miata.
But under the hood it’s anything but normal. It’s got a 13B from an FC. Why? Because the owner that that would be cool.
Mike was working on pulling the engine out of a crashed GTO.
Luke was helping get some stuff disconnected inside.
Luke found the car on Craigslist. When he texted the seller and asked for a picture of the damage, this is what the seller sent him. WOW!
Ducati Hypermotard, stripped Corvette, LS1 S13, just normal everday stuff at Blu808.
Creative solution for Gabe’s door bars.
Gabe got the tranny on and it was time to stick the engine back into the car.
The tranny almost fit. It just barely hit the tranny tunnel. That’d be an easy fix.
Nothing a plasma cutter couldn’t take care of.
