Waking up the morning after Olympia, my foot was in bad shape. It was super swollen and needless to say, painful. Jay is a highly skilled ninja, and took it upon himself to make sure I was doing everything I could to heal quickly, and I can’t thank him enough for that. He even massaged some of the blood out of my foot in front of a McDonalds, and my foot smelled terrible. Jay, you really are one hell of a guy. Thanks buddy.
On our way through the majestic mountains of Washington, we stopped at a vista point to snap a few shots and for Chad to pee in the road. My foot hurt, so I shot this with the 105mm from the tour van. haha!
When we rolled into Kennewick, we took a rest at Keith Rowley’s house and enjoyed an excellent bbq, and of course some Jameson whiskey! Keith is actually the man responsible for booking the tour through his company Shred Head Inc, and he does his thing pretty well.
I had to add this pic I found on his facebook page… Keith has been a rocker since before I was born! Legit!
On to the venue, here’s Ben enjoying a road soda in the green room while Maleva got ready to warm up the crowd.
Maleva had a rockin set this night. Out of all the shows, I think this was among their best.
Enter: Jameson. Rocking everyone’s face off as usual.
Some of these sets have been in color, some black & white. Why, you ask? Well, as Drew mentioned in the first Jameson article, Charles Peterson is a big influence in band photography, and I also really dig the sharp contrasty rawness of b/w. Another major reason for choosing b/w over color (as in the SF article) was that this club used primarily red lights. Red + photography = do not mix. Remember your old TV? how the red would bleed out over everything if you turned the saturation up too high? Same thing in photos. Damn you, lighting guys!
Local rockers All Gussied Up headlined the show. They play a crazy blend of genres all mixed together. For the most part, they fit right in with Jameson in the heavy metal arena, but every now and then they’d bust out with a totally folky breakdown or intro. As an eclectic music enthusiast, I really appreciated this aspect of their repertoire.
Oh yeah, and their singer looks like Jason Mewes. haha!
This is Ramey. The guys in AGU are friends of Jameon, and Ramey decided to hitch a ride with Keith down to the following night’s show in Boise Idaho. I gotta say, it was a lot of fun hanging out with Ramey. Shoot me an AGU cd Rames! I’ll rock it in my car all the time, I swear!
