XDC Shenannies

So after an amazing weekend of Drift Evolution and then a day in Willows California for Thunder Drift Rd. 4, Justin Shreeve and I made our way to Kent Washington for our first Extreme Drift Competition at Pacific Grand Prix. Justin and I made our way from Medford Oregon to Portland via Greyhound and then to Kent in his girlfriends Ford Focus. While on the bus, we made use of our time and edited some stuff from Thunder Drift. Coverage on that coming soon.

We arrived to PGP, but were unable to get in, because for practice day they would only allow drivers, no media. So we left our cameras in the car, hopped the fence and hung out with the homies. As soon as practice ended, our good friend Sully invited us to stay the night at his place. In case you didn’t know, its customary for Sullys to drive with no hands.

On our way to Sullys, We all stopped at Fred Meyers grocery store to get some sushi for dinner. As soon as we walked into the store, we saw a lone balloon cat doing some solo handstands, we decided to join the little guy.

We ate our meal outside and began to do what camera fags do best, take pictures of each other.

And I began to practice flying. FIRST PERSON TO FIND SHREEVE WINS!!!

These two are quite fond of each other.

After we left Fred Meyers, we continued the short drive to Sullys place. We soon got distracted again by some huge pipes we say laying in a yard next to the street. We decided to pull over and check them out. It was really cool, Justin even grabbed his skateboard and began riding them. Although we have not photos of this happening, it will all be in our “Tandem of Die” DVD.

We finally arrived to the Casa de Sully, acquired more appropriate attire, and headed out, but not before we took some myface duckspace photos.

We ended up watching some buddys get some ink did at Under the Needle Tattoo. Jarod DeAnda and Chris Forsberg were among the few who received the tattoo of a papusa with a bite taken out of it. For those of you who don’t know, a papusa is a traditional El Salvadorian food made up of a thick home made corn tortilla usually filled with cheese, beans, peppers, and various meats. Very delicious, my Tia Gloria makes the BEST! Although lots of video was taken, no photos of the end result was acquired, but feel free to bug these guys next time you see them and ask to check it out!

We got up super late the next morning and completely missed practice, but we made it in time for qualifying. There was about a 2 hour break between tandem practice and top 16 competition so we had lots of time to mess around. Oh whats up BThai!

Mat Risher spent most of the day playing angry birds and making afro silhouettes.

Our friend, and world famous photographer, Conner Surdi was there to enjoy his last PGP adventure as he will be moving to Japan today. We’ll certainly miss him over here but wish him well on his new adventures.
Again I managed to not have a single car photo in a drift post (Sully’s truck doesn’t count), but I’m sure we’ll see something from our friend Yoshi Shindo up on MotorMavens pretty soon.
