Living in Oakland I’m just a short drive across the bay bridge and over the hills to the beaches of my hometown, Half Moon Bay. Yesterday my friend enlightened me to the fact that there is a beach on the east side of the bay, and since it was hot and gross outside we went to Alameda to check it out. It was a little bit smoggy, but the view was very interesting. A beach with San Francisco in the background? Awesome.
There were a surprising number of people out at the beach for a Monday, but when it’s hot you’ve got to cool off somehow. If they’re anything like me, the pasty people of Alameda were taking the opportunity to get some pink on their white.
These Norwegian looking kids were chasing butterflies around with a net. I was really glad to see that there are still some kids who go outside to play.
Here’s a bum I found on the beach. Pretty pro, bro.
This cute girl was hanging around with the bum. Subsequently, I’m not sure about her life choices. Whatever though, look at that smile!
